Installation & Setup Guide
This guide covers the complete installation process of HungryBee POS on Windows systems. HungryBee is optimized for minimal resource usage while providing maximum performance.
System Requirements
Before installing, ensure your system meets these minimum requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit recommended)
- Processor: Intel Core i3 (5th Gen) or equivalent AMD Ryzen
- RAM: 4 GB Minimum (8 GB Recommended for heavy usage)
- Storage: 500 MB free space for installation, plus additional space for database growth
- Display: 1366x768 minimum resolution (Touch screen recommended)
Downloading the Installer
You can download the latest version of HungryBee POS from our official landing page or the GitHub release repository if you have access.
Current filename format: HungryBee-POS-Setup-1.0.4.exe
Installation Steps
- Run the Installer: Double-click the downloaded
.exefile. You may see a User Account Control prompt asking for permission. Click Yes. - License Agreement: Read the Terms and Conditions and License Agreement carefully. Check the "I accept the agreement" box and click Next.
- Select Destination: By default, HungryBee installs to `AppData/Local/Programs/hungrybee-pos`. We recommend keeping this default path to avoid permission issues.
- Create Shortcuts: Ensure "Create a desktop shortcut" is checked for easy access.
- Install: Click the Install button. The process usually takes less than a minute.
- Finish: Once complete, check "Launch HungryBee POS" and click Finish.
Initial Launch Configuration
When you launch HungryBee POS for the first time, it will initialize the local database. This process happens in the background.
Database Initialization
The system creates a local SQLite database at %AppData%/HungryBee/db/pos.sqlite. This file
contains all your restaurant data. Do not delete or modify this file manually.
