Hardware Setup & Compatibility

HungryBee POS is designed to work with standard POS hardware peripherals.

Printers (Thermal)

We support most ESC/POS compatible thermal printers via USB, LAN (Ethernet), or Bluetooth (Windows pairing required).

Setting up a USB Printer:

1. Install the printer driver provided by the manufacturer (e.g., Epson, X-Printer).
2. Ensure the printer appears in Windows "Printers & Scanners" and can print a test page.
3. Open HungryBee POS using the desktop shortcut.
4. Go to Settings > Printers.
5. Select your printer from the dropdown list.
6. Click Test Print.

Barcode Scanners

HungryBee works with any standard USB barcode scanner acting as a keyboard wedge (HID mode).

• Usage: Simply click on the search bar in the Billing screen or Inventory search, point, and scan.
• Configuration: No special configuration is needed within HungryBee.

Cash Drawers

Cash drawers are triggered via the printer.

1. Connect the Cash Drawer RJ11 cable to the back of your Thermal Printer (not the PC).
2. In Windows Printer Properties (Device Settings), enable "Open Cash Drawer before printing".
3. HungryBee will trigger this command every time a bill is printed.

Touch Screens

The interface is fully touch-optimized. No special drivers are needed beyond standard Windows touch support.
